About Us
Here at Premier GK Academy we are very passionate about our coaching, the environment we create and the development of our goalkeepers. Every session that is run is fresh and innovative led by a former professional Goalkeeper and experienced Goalkeeping coaches. We focus on all levels and abilities across our age groups and strive to make our sessions informative as well as lots of fun!
Together we have more than 25 years experience in top flight professional goalkeeping and are adding to this experience all of the time with our outstanding coaches.
In Football we understand that the Goalkeeping position is forever changing and it is vital that all Goalkeepers work and practice to improve their game and that all areas are covered when training. With this in mind we put together unique coaching sessions inspired by premier league coaches which are adapted to each session and age group, bringing out the best in all of our Goalkeepers. We cover all aspects of Goalkeeping topics, including nutrition, which is vital to keep you on track and our aim is to provide relevant, progressive coaching to all Goalkeepers.
On our courses we will be working on a variety of topics during our sessions, incorporating the FA’s 4 Corner Player Development Model.
Our sessions will include:
- Handling
- Shot-stopping/1v1/Blocking
- Distribution
- Dealing with crosses
- Reactions
- Conditioning
We will also work on other unique qualities a goalkeeper must have such as:
- Support
- Confidence
- Decision Making
- Leadership
- Communication
We will also be addressing technical element sessions & mental conditioning. These are just some of the specialist sessions we will be running alongside our regular goalkeeper training.
We aim to create a fun, friendly, and challenging environment where our young Goalkeepers will learn and progress on a session by session basis with our coaches and guest coaches to inspire them further.
In addition to the Goalkeeper coaching, every goalkeeper will receive a feedback document after completing the 10 session course. Our forms will contain detailed feedback and advice from our coaches. They will be giving detailed critique and focusing on all of our Goalkeepers strengths, weaknesses, where they have improved whilst taking part on our courses and where they need to improve.
If any of our Goalkeepers shows enough promise ‘Premier GKs’ has a wealth of contacts who are looking to scout new talent, enabling us to recommend our Goalkeepers to trusted clubs, giving them the possibility to follow on their dream of becoming a professional Goalkeeper.
All sessions are conducted by a FA Certified Coaches with First Aid Training and Advanced CRB checks.
